The Simplicity In Style: The Daily Practice Of Gratitude For Less To Think About
Lots of people see fashion as a way to express themselves. For me simplicity is a way. I wear the same black pants, white or black top,
sometimes reversed. Plain, simple, no patterns.
Always comfortable always me.
Dressing up in the morning is easy.
Black and white. That’s it!
There is so much freedom in not overthinking what to wear. No stress, no rummaging through the
closet. One less decision in this crazy
chaotic world. This small choice to keep
it simple gives me peace of mind so I can fully focus what really matters: my work,
my creativity, my wellness, my purpose.
It is not that I do not care about how I look, I just care
more about how I feel. When I put on my daily
uniform, I feel like me. Clear, Ready,
Grounded and Focussed.
Sundays are different though. I dress up.
Not to show off, not to impress anyone but as a way to honour the day.
Sundays are sacred to me, and my outfits reflect that. Nice dress jacket, a bit of makeup, beautiful
scarf, a little extra intention. It is my way of saying: This day is special.
Thank You Lord.
The contrast between everyday simplicity and my Sunday best
reminds me to appreciate the ordinary and to celebrate sacred. This is the ritual
of balance the gift of choosing less
and living more.
With Love And Gratitude,

This is really beautiful, Aphroditi. I love how you frame simplicity not as restriction, but as freedom, less noise, more presence. The idea of a “daily uniform” as a grounding ritual really resonated, especially the contrast with honoring Sundays intentionally. It’s such a gentle reminder that choosing less can actually create more space for gratitude, clarity, and what truly matters. 🤍
ReplyDeleteThis is something I try to practice more of. Keeping a simple capsule wardrobe that fits well and can transition from different activities cuts out so much wasted energy and stress, streamlines my routine prioritising how a feel and function. My passion for fashion actually encouraged this, understanding the make up of garments and how they can affect our hormones, water waste and environmental issues, awareness around poor social practices never mind tailoring techniques or hand made garments. This also means I take care of my things more and value the time and craftsmanship it takes to manufacture everything. It’s all about moving intentionally through life.
ReplyDeleteLove this, Katrina 🙌
ReplyDeleteChoosing intentionality over excess, especially with your awareness of craftsmanship and impact, turns a capsule wardrobe into clarity, not restriction. That shift from consumption to care is powerful.
